AIE 2nd Anniversary Contest
To begin this year's festivities, I call the members of AIE to a grand challenge.
You have until the stroke of midnight (PST that is) on February 12th to create, conduct, write, record or bake an ode to our grand community.
The winner of this contest will receive the Baby Murloc Miniature Figurine set that was released at Blizzcon 2007:
Submissions (audio, video, written or otherwise) will be posted on the AIE guild site and will be reposted on the forums by the judging committee.
The pieces entered must incorporate the following themes: Alea Iacta Est, World of Warcraft and Anniversary. Sorry, any positive gnome references will get you immediately eliminated.
Suitable entries may be poems, short stories, art, sculptures, musical performances, videos or baked goods. Interpretive dances will be mocked accordingly.
Participants may send their pieces to artcontest@aie-guild.org; winners will be contacted accordingly. This contest is open to all members of AIE except the judging panel.
AIE 2nd Anniversary Parade
Day: Friday, February 13th
Time: 9:00pm server time (EST)
Who: Any and all guild members
Where: The gates of Silvermoon City
Please arrive early so that we can begin at 9 in an orderly fashion. Late arrivals will of course be welcomed into the group as we march. Along the route, we ask you all to avoid walking under ladders or crossing the path of any black cats.
We will march past all four Horde cities starting at the gates of Silvermoon, home to our newest Horde brethren, the Blood Elves. From there we will wind our way down to the land of the Forsaken, the Undercity, former home to Arthas the Lich king. From Undercity's depths, we shall board a zeppelin to take us across the seas to Orgrimmar, the city of the Orcs and shelter of the Trolls. Lastly, we march to our final destination of Thunder Bluff, the sky city of the Taurens.
After arriving in Thunder Bluff, the second part of the night’s festivities shall begin: The Return to Thunderdome.
Return to Thunderdome

Day: Friday, February 13th
Time: 10:00pm server time (EST), immediately following the parade
Who: Any and all guild members
Where: An undisclosed location
Thunderdome is an AIE tradition where members converge to test their mettle against one another in the fine art of dueling. This is your chance to hit an officer without getting court-martialed!
There will be as many duels as you can handle. Tired of getting smacked around by a paladin’s hammer? Challenge him to a weaponless duel. If you’re an engineer, bring your trinkets, such as the mechanical chicken or mechanical dragonling, and we can have a round of mechanical cockfights. If you have your netherwing badge then it’s more of the same; these work best with hunters and rogues who can stealth/feign death so the bots battle themselves. Be prepared to strip down to your skivies and obey the Marquess of Queensbury rules as you engage in bare knuckle brawls!
The goal is to have fun, not to crown a champion – so it’s not a tournament persay. Thunderdome is, however, an opportunity to have some serious duels, with a few funny ones mixed in as well.
AIE 2nd Anniversary PvP Raid
As the 2 year anniversary approaches, I'd like for you to recall your scariest memory of your childhood. Was it the clown at your birthday party? Was it that really scary side-room with scary pictures? Was it the scary-sounding furnace kicking on and off?
Now take that fear, bottle it up inside of you, turn it into anger, and think about the Alliance.
*waits*
*sniffs air*
Good. We shall be using this bottled concoction to formulate a raid on the Alliance.
Day: Sunday, February 15th
Time: 9:30pm server time (EST)
Who: Any players are welcome. Of course, we'd like to get as many 80's as possible - and furthermore, as many healers as possible. We'll need at least 4 level 80 warlocks for summoning as well.
Where: Meet at four different locations, depending on level: Warsong Hold (77 and up), Zoram'gar (under 80), Grom'gol (only 80), and Helloise's Super-Secret Location (only 80)
What we are raiding: Shhhh....
Please log in early if possible. We will disperse those who are coming into the appropriate teams before the event begins. If we get warlocks, we'll try to summon each team to its location. The 4 teams (depending on the # of people who come) will be led by Thyatira, Helloise, Ralff, and one more. Whisper me first, and I'll give you your location. You'll get an invite from your team's leader.
Please see this thread if you have any questions. Also, please post your character name, class and level there (this is not a requirement, but it helps us have an idea of how many are coming.

Ashayo

Class: Warlock (Affliction)
Rank: Praetorian
Ashayo was born in Teldrassil - yes, a Night Elf - long, long ago, and followed the priestly ways. After 60 seasons of battle, a new opportunity arose. She felt the pull of the shadow and turned her back on the holy light. The Dark Portal loomed, and the Burning Crusades began. Eagerly, Ashayo leapt into the portal. But the gods had other plans. The lure of the shadow was too great, and she emerged a warlock - and now a Blood Elf. With a new found lust for demonic companions, she battled through 80 seasons in the company of new friends and new opportunities.
In the real world, the man behind Ashayo is an Australian they call Cam - mostly because that's his name. He works in the IT Industry and is old enough to remember the days when a few kilobytes of memory was enough to run a production system, and to curse the gods for the unreliability of reel-to-reel tapes.
He's been playing WoW since release, and took up dual-boxing last year. All his horde toons are AIE born 'n bred. After levelling Jekle and Hiide (Druid / Hunter), he discovered the power of the Paladin / Priest combination (Ashield and Asheal) and hasn't looked back.

The AIE Podcast (by Warak)
The AIE Podcast is made by AIE members for AIE members. It's a podcast of the people, by the people, and for the people!

The podcast was recently revamped to include a guild news section, containing information vital to every AIE member. The majority of the podcast, the meat and potatoes if you will, is made up of segments submitted by guildies themselves. Topics include general goings-on in AIE, tips and tricks, game lore, and roleplaying - pretty much anything you could ask for.
With the sound wizardry contributions of Bearbutt, a regular contributor to the Instance, and regular contributions from guild members Dills, Gufoni, Silversea, Warak, Reinyan, Secondaid and Miy, the podcast has come a long way in only 19 episodes.
One can expect the podcast every other week on a Wednesday or Thursday. You can download the podcast on iTunes here or you can listen to it directly on the guild website here. Also, if you have a segment you would like to submit, or if you have any questions about the podcast, you can send it to podcast@aie-guild.org.
