I. INTRODUCTION

1. What is the Night Owls Raiding Group (NORG)?

The Night Owls Raiding Group (also known as “NORG”) is a casual raiding group formed of members of the Alea Iacta Est guild located on the Earthen Ring World of Warcraft server. NORG takes its name from the fact the group commonly runs evening raids convenient for both east coast late nighters and people on the west coast. The core values of the group are to have fun, be sensitive to real life concerns and to resolve group conflicts. The long term goal of this group is to see as much end game content as possible in keeping with their values.

2. Who are the leaders of NORG?

The founder of NORG is Hiddenbank.
The NORG group was created by Hiddenbank on July 19, 2008.

The first Raid Manager of NORG is Rustruby.
The second Raid Manager of NORG is yet to be determined.
The responsibility of the Raid Manager is to organize the NORG prior to and following raiding and to handle the distribution of loot during the raid.

The first Raid Leader of NORG is Nagazul.
The second Raid Leader of NORG is Thorgrimm.
The responsibility of the Raid Leader is to lead the NORG during actual raiding.

"In essence the Raid Manager puts people into the car. The Raid Leader decides where the car is going to drive and who it is going to run over."

3. When does NORG raid?

Generally raids will be conducted on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week starting at 10:00 PM server time (which is the same as Eastern time). Please log in well in advance to account for the queue!

4. What content does NORG currently raid?

NORG currently runs 10 man Vault of Archavon, Obsidian Sanctum and Naxxramas. NORG also occasionally runs 25 man content with other raiding groups.

5. What content has NORG run in the past?

NORG members regularly ran Karazhan, Zul’ aman, Gruul’s Lair, and Magtheridon’s Lair prior to the release of Wrath of the Lich King. They also participated in Serpentshrine Cavern and Black Temple raids.

6. How do I contact NORG?

You can either post on the AIE raiding board at:
http://www.myextralife.com/forum2/viewforum.php?f=23
or email Rustruby directly at

II. MEMBERSHIP

1. How does NORG categorize its members?

NORG has two categories of members: Raiding Members and Reserve Members.

In order to be considered an Raiding Member, a) one must be level 80, b) be a NORG member, and c) been available and on time for a planned raid within the past two weeks. Posting to the weekly raid thread or informing the raid manager in advance as to one’s absence will also suffice for requirement c.

All other NORG members are considered Reserve Members.

2. How do non members apply for membership to NORG?

Membership is by invitation after the group has had several opportunities to run with an individual. One may post to the thread on the AIE raiding board or whisper the Raid Manager to be considered for an open spot in an upcoming raid. Kindly be aware that the NORG group does not always have open raid or membership spots. Invitations may therefore be infrequent.
